Have you ever walked into a pet shop and seen a Kong? Ever wondered if you should buy one? Well these Kong toys built to withstand wear and tear. Kong toys encourage satisfactory play for all ages and sizes. Kong’s stimulate mental and physical exercise in all breeds of dogs. The Kong brand makes lots of ranges of toys.
About the Kong toy: 6/10 - These toys are made of high quality rubber that is practically indestructible. Kong takes pride in its original classic Kong which is made with natural Kong rubber and it is the reason why people across the world know the brand KONG by name. Puppies are safe to use Kong’s because of the soft rubber and it promotes the puppies to chew on acceptable items i.e. toys not shoes.
How much my dogs like it: 7/10- they love to chase the toy for treats and they sometimes get there breakfast inside it!
How easy it was to clean and prepare: 5/10- It is actually really easy to prep but cleaning it is the hardest part, a bottle brush would be really helpful but if not get a cloth roll it into a small pipe shape, then line the Kong with washing up liquid and insert the cloth. If not then put the Kong in the dishwasher.
Benefits of Kong’s:
Kong’s help express a dog’s natural behaviours: chewing, scavenging and working for food.

They encourage chewing the appropriate items.

Provides mental stimulation to dogs, which relives stress and boredom.
The fillings can be customised to suit every dog’s needs.
Relatively cheap.
Great for dogs/puppies who may have separation anxiety.
Disadvantages of Kong’s:
Can be difficult to clean the inside (hollow part.)
Some stuffing can stain carpets/furniture/flooring/clothes.
Sometimes can be unsuitable for overweight dogs.
Review: I would definitely recommend this product to any dog owner as a great source of mental stimulation. Kong’s can help with puppy/dog separation anxiety and this is helpful for me with my new puppy. I also like how easy it is to stuff with kibble and cream cheese (my go-to stuffing). The only down side is the Kong I have bought smells very strong of rubber and I have washed it with washing up liquid and cannot get rid of the smell, but I won’t be eating out of it so it doesn’t really matter. I really like this product as there are so many recipes for stuffing this toy.
Some recipe ideas:
Peanut Butter, natural plain yoghurt, cream cheese, Primula squeezey cheese, canned pumpkin, canned dog food, kibble, ground meat (cooked/raw) etc.
