In the heat your dog will need some way of cooling down, about a year or two ago I found a dog cooling coat and its amazing, would never be without one now!

How to activate the coat: They are activated by water, you submerge the coat in cool water for a couple of minutes and then ring it out as you don’t want to make the dog wet, you can test whether the coat is too wet by putting your hand beneath the dog's coat and feeling how cool he feels compared to any part of his coat that is exposed to the sun or heat for a period of time. As the heat of the day slowly evaporates the water from the cooling coat, this draws the water out and makes the coat go stiffer and stiffer. If this happens just reactivate with water.

How to clean the cool coat? You can rinse it with warm water in the sink but if it’s really muddy/dirty then it is safe to put it in the washing machine, remember to wash dark colours separately.

Storage: allow to dry completely the put in a cupboard or wherever you store your pet’s things.

This cooling coat is in my eyes a godsend because we go to Spain every summer and this means it’s better for my dogs to stay cooler that just being inside the whole time beneath the fan.
